“The Calgary Chamber is pleased to see the diversity of Canada’s economy across sectors and regions reflected on the nation-building projects list, including several energy-focused initiatives that recognize the importance of energy to our national prosperity and productivity. Among them, the Alberta-based Pathways carbon capture project, as well as the expansion of LNG, stand out as critical steps toward reducing emissions and enhancing the global competitiveness of Canadian energy products.
“We are also encouraged by the announcement of major projects in critical minerals development and data centre construction, which will propel our success in emerging industries, and are encouraged by significant investments in port infrastructure, which will be critical to addressing our ongoing supply chain constraints. These initiatives align with Canada’s broader economic opportunities: increasing productivity, diversifying trade and meeting growing global demand for energy and critical minerals.
“These investments create meaningful opportunities for businesses of all sizes – enhancing market access, boosting exports and reinforcing Canada’s role as a reliable global partner. We look forward to the second tranche of major projects expected in November and to working closely with the federal government and Major Projects Office to ensure swift progress, to accelerate prosperity for all Canadians.”
