Want to support Canadian businesses but don't know where to start?
We've got you covered.
Keep it Canadian is our way of highlighting members with Canadian-made products, to encourage support for businesses that contribute to the Canadian economy and community during these uncertain times.
Our interactive map is accessible to all visitors to our website which includes participating businesses around the city, helping local customers discover and support our members. Additionally, this map will assist visitors in evaluating the extent to which a business’s operations contribute to the Canadian economy and, in turn, help us strengthen the community and showcase the amazing products and businesses we have right here in Calgary.
We are putting a spotlight on three kinds of Canadian business:
Product of Canada
At least 98% of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing the good were incurred in Canada, and the last substantial transformation of the product occurred in Canada.
Made in Canada
At least 51% of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing a good have been incurred in Canada, and the product must have undergone its last substantial transformation in Canada.
Canadian company
Small businesses are the heart of Calgary’s economy, making up 95% of all enterprises. Rising costs, however, are limiting their growth and profitability.
