Marc Charbonneau

Marc Charbonneau is Director of Culture & Employee Experience at Servus Credit Union, where he champions a data-driven, AI-powered approach to personalize every stage of the employee journey. He recently led the rollout of a new career architecture, revamped the sales framework and orchestrated a highly successful Belonging Month. A passionate advocate for talent-intelligence informed future-proof skills, Marc explores how AI can amplify the human touch in talent development, attraction, and retention. He holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School – with studies in Spain, Peru, Brazil and Chile – and a BCom from the University of Alberta with coursework in China. When he’s not innovating at work, you’ll find him on family adventures with his wife and one-year-old daughter. 

 

Cheryl Hooper

Manager, People & Culture | Helcim

Cheryl Hooper is a People & Culture leader with a deep passion for transforming the workplace experience. As the Manager of People & Culture at Helcim, Cheryl has spent nearly four years raising the bar across all facets of HR—including recruitment, feedback systems, performance management, compensation design, and leadership development. 

With a unique background that blends corporate HR strategy with hands-on coaching and consulting, Cheryl has guided organizations of all sizes through meaningful culture and capability shifts. Her previous roles include serving as a Talent Advisor at TransAlta, a change leader at ANZ in New Zealand, and a career consultant for MBA students at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business. 

Cheryl is a certified coach, a trained systems practitioner, and holds her CPHR designation. Whether she’s building engagement programs, redesigning employee journeys, or helping leaders unlock their potential, Cheryl is steadfast in her mission to elevate the employee experience and champion inclusive, human-centered workplaces. 

Sarah Imran

Director, Career Services | Mount Royal University

Sarah Imran serves as the Director of Career Services at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada. Since 2019, she has driven a comprehensive strategy overseeing experiential and work-integrated learning across university faculties, ensuring a cohesive alignment between academia and the workforce.

With a career spanning over two decades in public post-secondary education, Sarah’s expertise is deeply rooted in forging meaningful partnerships that bridge industry with academic rigor. Prior to her current role, she excelled as Associate Dean at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), where her leadership paved the way for innovative programs designed to meet the evolving demands of the energy sector. Her tenure at SAIT was marked by her ability to strategically enhance workforce-ready initiatives. Earlier, as Workforce Development Coordinator at Keyano College, Sarah was instrumental in delivering programs that equipped students with skills to thrive in competitive labor markets.

Sarah’s experience spans internships, workforce readiness, and partnership development, making her a sought-after expert in the sector. Her research interests focus on the cultivation of career competencies, competency development, and their intrinsic connection to career satisfaction—areas where her insights have made a notable impact.

Sarah holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Western Caspian University and a Master of Business Administration from Durham University.

Jill Brown

Vice President, Corporate Services | Calgary Chamber of Commerce

Jill is a seasoned operations and HR leader who has spent two decades helping organizations run smarter, fairer and faster. She has held senior roles at national and international organizations, including Chief Operating Officer of a national integrated design firm and Vice President, Administration at Alberta University of the Arts. In these roles, Jill led wide-ranging portfolios always with a focus on turning strategic priorities into meaningful, measurable outcomes.

In her current role as Vice President, Corporate Services at the Calgary Chamber, Jill thrives at the intersection of strategy and operations leading key internal business functions including people and culture, finance, technology and office services, ensuring the Chamber operates efficiently, supports its strategic goals and delivers exceptional value to its members and community.

In addition to her professional work, Jill is committed to community service. She serves on the board of the Accessible Housing Society and has been an active volunteer with school councils and other community organizations. A proud born and raised Calgarian, Jill holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Calgary and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.
