Our Mental Health Pillar Partner

Cenovus Energy is working with Calgary Chamber in a three-year partnership to provide specialized programs, amplified focus on open discussions about mental health and proactive approaches to addressing mental health concerns.

Mental health matters: A wake-up call for Calgary's workforce

According to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, one in two Canadians has or has had a mental illness by the time they reach 40, which prevents nearly 500,000 Canadians from working each week.

These numbers are more then statistics, they’re a call to action. In response to this statistic, the Calgary Chamber is partnering with Cenovus Energy in a three-year endeavor to promote mental wellness and encourage ongoing well-being among employees and leaders.

Championing Mental Health in Calgary’s Business Community

Cenovus has prioritized mental health across its company through thoughtful discussion and effective resources and now will be partnering on the Chamber’s mental health events, including the Mental Health Forum and the National Depression Screening Day event. The Cenovus team will provide ongoing mental health thought leadership through the Calgary Chamber’s channels to reach Calgary’s business community.

Through this partnership, the Chamber will work with Cenovus to provide specialized programs, amplified focus on open discussions about mental health and proactive approaches to addressing mental health concerns. Stay tuned for the launch of this programming later this year.

Events and programming

Proactively addressing mental health concerns leads to positive results. That’s why the Calgary Chamber, in collaboration with Cenovus Energy, is supporting and hosting regular mental health events and programming throughout the year.

Mental Health Mondays

A monthly event series dedicated to fostering open, supportive conversations about mental well-being in our community.

In partnership with our Mental Health Pillar Partner, Cenovus, these sessions go beyond the workplace covering a wide range of topics that impact both our professional and personal lives. Each month, a thought leader from one of Calgary’s leading mental health organizations will guide the conversation, share resources and be available to answer your questions.

This series is also about building a sense of community—whether you’re personally navigating mental health challenges, supporting someone who is, or simply wanting to learn more. Whether you’re a business leader, team member or community partner, you’ll gain valuable tools, insights and connections to strengthen well-being for yourself and those around you.

Together, let’s build a healthier, more resilient Calgary, because we’re always better together
